Partners

The LakeView Supermileage Vehicle Team is looking to partner with members of Industry, and Kenosha “Business Landmarks.” The team already has worked with over 40 local companies, and would like this number to continue to grow. Countless students have partnered with supporting companies to complete internships, and some have continued to pursue careers with industry partners. The goal of the club is to provide students with the skills and experience for after high school.

The goal is to facilitate a relationship that benefits the club, the students and the members of industry. These partnerships look different across the board but the goal is the same. Job shadowing, internships, mentoring, course and curriculum alignment are a few of the efforts being made to strengthen partnership with local companies. We can better fill the jobs of tomorrow by training the youth of today. Working hand in hand with education and industry is the best way to produce the next generation of workers.

Working with Industry

The LakeView Supermileage Vehicle Team partnered with local companies to mass produce custom hub adapters to sell to cooperating WEEVA teams. The club worked with Formed by Design to streamline a design for an adapter to mount heavier duty sprockets to bicycle hubs. The team then partnered with Bio-Fab to produce different size sprockets, and worked with Owens Manufacturing to manufacture the EDM cut adapters. The project was a complete success, and now 10 other cars in Wisconsin are using the hubs designed by LakeView students.
